Lifestyle Medicine Consultation
Nutrition, movement, sleep and stress, applied to the life you actually have rather than an ideal one.
Paying is what holds the appointment for you. You choose your time on the next page.
Going on to the Restored Programme later? What you pay here comes off it. Ask us for your code.
Lifestyle medicine gets treated as the soft option, the thing you are told to try before anything serious happens. Treated that way, most of what it can actually do gets wasted.
Here it is treated as clinical work. What you eat, how you move, how you sleep and how much pressure you are carrying all change how you feel, and they can change what your results look like.
What we cover
- Food built around what you will realistically eat, not an ideal week that lasts nine days
- Movement that fits the time you actually have
- Sleep, and what is genuinely getting in the way of it
- Your stress load, and what recovery would need to look like for you specifically
How we decide where to put your effort
Where the evidence is strong, we will say so. Where it is thin, we will say that too, and you decide whether to give it your time. You will not be handed a protocol that quietly assumes you have three spare hours a day and nobody else to look after.
This can be taken on its own, or alongside a consultation and testing. Some elements are delivered with third party partners, and we will tell you who they are beforehand.
Held online, wherever you are in the UK.
This is not a diagnosis, and it does not replace your GP. If you feel unwell and it cannot wait, contact your GP or NHS 111.
Questions
What women ask before they book this
The honest answers, including the ones that might talk you out of it.
Isn't this just diet and sleep advice I could find for free?
The advice is free; the sorting is what you're paying for. Anyone can list 40 things that help, and the work is deciding which 3 are likely to do anything for you, given your history, your week and what you're already carrying. That decision is what takes 45 minutes and a clinician.
How is this different from a nutritionist or a health coach?
It's run as clinical work rather than as a wellness plan. Food, movement, sleep and the pressure you're under get looked at against your history and against what your results show, by someone who reads results as part of the job. Where the evidence is strong we will say so, and where it's thin we will say that too, and you decide what gets your time.
Are you going to tell me to lose weight?
Only if you've asked us to help with it. Weight is not the aim of this appointment and it is not a plan on its own. A lot of what changes how a woman feels has nothing to do with the scales.
Do I need to have had a consultation first?
No. This can be booked on its own, or alongside a consultation and testing if you want your full history and your results in the room as well. If we think you'd get more from starting with the longer appointment, we will say so.
I have got no time and other people to look after. Will any of this be realistic?
It has to be, or it's useless. Movement is built around the time you actually have and food around what you'll realistically eat, not an ideal week that lasts 9 days. If a plan assumes 3 spare hours a day, the plan is wrong.
Is 45 minutes enough to cover food, sleep, movement and stress?
It is, as long as we don't try to fix all 4 at once. We work out which one is costing you the most right now and start there, and the rest gets sequenced instead of dumped on you in one go. Small steps, built up.
Do I need blood tests for this?
Not for this appointment. Testing gets suggested where it would genuinely change what we do, and if you've had results done recently, bring them and we'll use them. Testing everything is not thoroughness, it just creates noise and worry.
Are you going to tell me to buy a pile of supplements?
No, and nothing here requires you to buy anything. If something has decent evidence behind it we will tell you what it is and what it's likely to do, and you decide from there. Where we earn anything from a product we recommend, we say so at the time. Some elements are delivered with third party partners, and you'll be told who they are beforehand.
What do I leave with?
A plan you can actually run, with the order of priority made clear, so you know what to do first instead of facing a list of 20 things. It's written down, and it's kept current at any later appointment as your circumstances change.
What if it turns out lifestyle can't fix what I have got?
Then we will tell you, which may be the most useful thing that happens in the appointment. Lifestyle is not the soft option, and it is also not the answer to everything, and pretending otherwise wastes your time and your money. If it belongs with somebody else, we will tell you who can look at it and how you reach them. This is not a diagnosis and it does not replace your GP.
Is the appointment online?
Yes. Everything here is online, so you can be anywhere in the UK. We do not currently see patients in person. The only person who ever comes to you is a phlebotomist, and only if you choose that option for a blood test.

Rather ask us something first?
Write to us and describe briefly what is going on. We will tell you honestly whether this is the right appointment for it, and there is no charge for asking.
